Jamie to tackle 300 miles for charity
Jamie Colvin, who is one of our Commercial Business Executives, will be riding from Leicester to Bruges for Heart Link. Heart Link is the children’s charity bases at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. The charity was originally formed as a support group for parents and families who have a child suffering from a heart defect. Since 1981, they have collected over 4 million pounds which has been used to fund projects large and small.
Jamie will be joined by his friend Steve, and the ride involves 300 miles and takes place over 3 days (26th-18th May 2019). He shares his thoughts on the epic endeavor and why he decided to do it.
What is your role at WWG and what do you like most about the company?
“I head up the Corporate Sales Team and the company is great for it’s family environment. A lot of the staff have worked together for over five years and I’ve been here for nine years.”
What made you take on this bike ride?
“Along with my friend Steve, we devised this plan last year whilst away with our families in the Lake District. We felt our fitness had taken a big hit and at the same time, we wanted to support the Heart Link Charity which has helped our friend massively during the issues they’ve had with their son. Bruges seemed like a great destination as I’ve briefly visited before.”
What else do you do for fun?
At the moment, my focus is on training for the bike ride, however I also like to do other types of fitness such as football and general gym work. I also like to socialise with friends – both work related and those outside of work.”
Three words that best describe you?
“Fun, Loud, and Outgoing.”
